Job summary

Johns Hopkins Care at Home is seeking an Outpatient ClinicalPharmacist I in Maryland. You will interpret prescriptions, compound and dispense medications, and advise patients and care teams. This role reports to the pharmacy manager and may act as pharmacist in charge when needed.

Required are a Maryland pharmacist license, CPR, and vaccination certification (upon hire or within six months). A Pharm.D. or B.S.

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in Maryland.
  • Certified to provide vaccinations (prefer hire and required within six months).
  • Active CPR certification.
  • At least two years retail/outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy (Pharm.D. or B.S.).
  • Residency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets prescriptions, compounds and dispenses medications ordered by physicians.
  • Provides information to patients and health care providers.
  • Works under moderate supervision with latitude for initiative; reports to pharmacy manager.
  • May act as pharmacist in charge when manager unavailable.

The Outpatient ClinicalPharmacist I interprets prescriptions and compounds and dispenses medications ordered by physicians or other authorized prescribers. The Pharmacist is a medication expert and provides information to both patients and health care providers, as well as other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager. The Staff Pharmacist works under moderate supervision with appropriate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. They report directly to the pharmacy manager. In the absence of the pharmacy manager, the Clinical Pharmacist I reports to the assistant pharmacy manager or the pharmacist in charge. In the event the pharmacy manager is not available, the Clinical Pharmacist I may act as the pharmacist in charge.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Maryland
  • Certified by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy to provide vaccinations preferably upon hire and required within six (6) months of hire
