Beacon Health System in Kalamazoo, MI is hiring a Clinical Pharmacist for the KAL Retail Pharmacy on a full-time, day-shift schedule (Mon-Fri 9:30am-6:00pm). The position supports efficient dispensing and high-quality pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will hold a B.Pharm or PharmD with licensure or eligibility to practice in Indiana and will participate in clinical activities, dosing, and collaboration with care teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD and licensure as a registered pharmacist or eligible for licensure in Indiana.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with physicians, hospital staff, and health care professionals.
• Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and standards for pharmaceutical services.
• May be exposed to potentially hazardous substances.

Responsabilités

• Prepares and dispenses medication orders according to policies and physician requests.
• Oversees and checks work of technical staff during medication preparation and dispensing.
• Consults with medical staff, clinical pharmacy practitioners, nurses and hospital staff to coordinate high-quality pharmaceutical services.
• Reviews medication orders and maintains patient medication profiles.
• Monitors therapy for contraindications and interactions and assists with dosing according to hospital protocol.
• Documents clinical activities accurately and maintains records of procurement, dispensing and use.
• Directs staff to ensure proper charging of pharmaceutical products in the hospital system.
• Supervises departmental support personnel engaged in these activities.
• Completes other duties and contributes to departmental projects.
