Job summary

The Valley Health System's Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas is seeking a Pharmacy Technician who will assist in preparing and distributing medications, manage inventory, and maintain records in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy.

Candidates should have a pharmacy degree (BS Pharm/PharmD) or equivalent, at least two years’ hospital experience or PGY-1 completion, and familiarity with automation, MS Office, and hospital information systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm or PharmD) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a hospital setting, or completion of PGY-1 residency.
• Automation experience with reporting features; MS Office; familiarity with hospital information system.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining drug inventory.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations.
• Operate under supervision of licensed pharmacist and follow standard procedures.

Job Description:

Pharmacy Technicians, under the supervision of a license pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy Technicians function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelors or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm or PharmD) from an accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two years (2) experience, preferably in a hospital setting or completion of at least one (1) year in a pharmacy residency (PGY-1) required.

Technical Skills:

Automation experience with knowledge of reporting features. Microsoft Office and knowledge of hospital information system.
