Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville in Cartersville, GA, is seeking a Pharmacist to join our hospital team on site. You will review, compound, dispense and monitor medication therapy across all ages, supervise pharmacy technicians, and participate in patient-focused care to optimize therapy.

This 7 on/7 off schedule runs Wednesday night through Tuesday night, 9:00 pm–7:30 am, and requires graduation from an ACPE-accredited school and Georgia licensure upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s or higher in Pharmacy.
• No experience required; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Pharmacist license in Georgia required upon hire (PHARMD).

Overview

****This position is 7 on/7 off starting Wednesday night and ending Tuesday night 9pm-7:30am****

Responsibilities

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
