Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. The role involves distribution, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medications across all patient ages during a 7 on/7 off schedule (Wednesday night through Tuesday night).

You will supervise pharmacy technicians, ensure accurate orders, and participate in patient-focused clinical activities to optimize medication therapy for infants through geriatrics.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s or higher in Pharmacy.
• No experience required; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• GA Pharmacist license (PHARMD) required upon hire.

Overview

****This position is 7 on/7 off starting Wednesday night and ending Tuesday night 9pm-7:30am****

Responsibilities

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
