Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist eligible to practice in the relevant state.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy as required.

Responsibilities

• ACCEPTS RESPONSIBILITY FOR CHECKING ALL MEDICATIONS LEAVING THE DEPARTMENT TO VERIFY QUALITY ASSURANCE.
• DISPENSES MEDICATIONS FROM PHYSICIAN ORDERS.
• Ensuring accurate entry of the order into the computer to furnish hospital personnel with current medication administration reports.
• Accepting responsibility for verifying dosages on the physician order are patient appropriate.
• COMPETENT IN COMMUNICATING TO HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS REGARDING AN ORDER (I.E., NON-FORMULARY DRUG, ALLERGY; DRUG INTERACTION, DRUG COMPATIBILITIES, DOSING QUESTION, ETC.). MUST BE ABLE TO USE SOUND JUDGEMENT, AS RELATED TO PATIENT CARE, IF THE PHYSICIAN IS UNAVAILABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS.
• The pharmacist oversees technician in operating Omnicell System.
• The pharmacist monitors for all adverse drug reactions on patients.
