Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a qualified pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services across the Medical Center, including high‑level compounding, dispensing, and clinical functions. You will monitor dosing, verify orders, and ensure accuracy on MARs while collaborating with physicians and nurses to optimize patient care.

The role requires Illinois pharmacist licensure, a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, and proficiency with chemotherapy, IV admixture, and drug therapies.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist with IDFPR certification or equivalent licensing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required.
• Ability to verify dosages on physician orders and ensure patient safety.
• Experience with chemotherapy, IV admixture, and drug interaction checks.
• Competent in using hospital computer systems and medication dispensing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Check all medications leaving the department for quality assurance.
• Dispense medications from physician orders accurately and timely.
• Enter orders correctly into the system to produce current MARs.
• Communicate with healthcare professionals regarding orders and questions.
• Monitor adverse drug reactions and ensure safe dosing and storage.
• Oversee technicians operating Omnicell and IV admixture activities.
• Work with medications including chemotherapy, IV products, and controlled substances.
• Participate in planning new pharmacy services and in-service training.
