Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a full-time Clinical Pharmacist for night shift (8 PM–7 AM). The pharmacist will manage patient therapies, verify orders, provide drug information, and educate the health care team in the inpatient setting.

Requirements include a Doctorate or Bachelor of Pharmacy, Virginia Pharmacist License, and BLS; ACLS preferred. Hospital experience and residency training are advantageous; exceptional patient care and teamwork are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
• Virginia Pharmacist License required; BLS certification required.
• ACLS preferred.
• Residency training preferred; hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services in the inpatient setting.
• Manage patient drug therapy per clinical standards.
• Verify appropriateness of provider orders to ensure patient safety.
• Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care and patient counseling as needed.
• Precept pharmacy students and participate in staff training.
