Job summary

Good Samaritan Hospital in California seeks a Clinical Pharmacist to safeguard and optimize medication use across care teams. You will monitor prescribed therapies, intervene in therapy decisions, and contribute to evidence-based practices to reduce drug-related risks.

Daily collaboration with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and staff will be essential as you provide pharmacokinetic guidance, adjust doses, review orders and monitor lab tests.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree (ACPE-accredited) required.
• Valid California Pharmacist License required.
• One year of recent hospital acute care experience required; residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact daily with pharmacy team, nurses, physicians and staff to resolve drug-therapy issues.
• Provide medication information and consult on pharmacokinetics, dosing, and lab orders per policy.
• Assist in training of new pharmacists, students, and technicians.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Clinical Pharmacist, your work plays an important role in the care of patients and healthcare providers by assuring the safe and the effective use of medications as needed. The Clinical Pharmacist monitors and evaluates prescribed therapies to promote optimal drug use and evidence-based practices to reduce risks of drug misadventures. We have an amazing team,

• You will have daily interaction with your pharmacy team, nurses, physicians and other facility staff in the hospital and intervene in conflicts between pharmacy and medical staff regarding drug therapy issue resolutions that may arise.
• You will provide medication information and consultation on pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, orders laboratory tests, medication monitoring according to established policies and procedures
• You will have the opportunity to participate in the training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians

What qualifications you will need:

• B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• A current and valid license as a registered pharmacist in the state of California.
• One-year recent hospital acute care experience required. Residency preferred.
