Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center in Clinton, IA seeks a Clinical Pharmacist to join our hospital-based pharmacy team. You will ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy for all patients and provide consultation to physicians, nursing staff, and patients.

The role involves overseeing the medication use process, dispensing medications, solving problems, and guiding other pharmacy associates to meet patient needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Iowa pharmacist license required.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy and 1-year internship.
• PharmD preferred or residency/clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy for all patients in their care and monitor care appropriately.
• Provide consultation to physicians, nursing staff, and patients to promote positive outcomes.
• Be responsible for the medication use process of preparing and dispensing medications and solving problems in the medication use process for patients and the organization.
• Be responsible for the day-to-day operations in their assigned areas and direct the efforts of other pharmacy associates as appropriate to meet patient needs.

Education

State of Iowa Pharmacist License

Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy; completion of 1 year's pharmacy internship

PharmD degree

ASHP accredited residency or significant clinical experience

As a Pharmacist at MercyOne, you will:

• Be responsible for the medication use process of preparing and dispensing medications and solving problems in the medication use process for patients and the organization
• Be responsible for the day-to-day operations in their assigned areas and direct the efforts of other pharmacy associates as appropriate to meet patient needs

Schedule

• 40 hours a week
• Rotating shifts

General Requirements

• State of Iowa Pharmacist License
• Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy; completion of 1 year's pharmacy internship
• Clinical Pharmacist must have one or more of the following: BS Pharmacy degree, PharmD degree, ASHP accredited residency or significant clinical experience
• PharmD degree Preferred
• Experience preferred
