Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a PRN, Clinical Pharmacist in Athens, TX to join our patient-centered pharmacy team. This role focuses on safe drug dispensing, IV admixture, and providing timely drug information to clinicians to optimize patient outcomes. Requirements include an ACPE-accredited degree (B.S.

or PharmD), active pharmacist license, BLS within 14 days of hire, and ACLS for Code Blue. Experience with sterile compounding is preferred but not required; eligible staff can complete

Qualifications

• Must have active Pharmacist license in good standing.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire and before direct patient care.
• ACLS certification required for attending Code Blue.
• Completion of TSBP educational requirements in sterile compounding or able to complete within 90 days of hire.

• Optimizes patient care by safe, cost-effective pharmaceutical services including drug dispensing and IV admixture.
• Oversees pharmacy technicians, students, and support staff under the direction of Pharmacy leadership.
• Provides drug information and collaborates with clinical teams to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

The clinical pharmacist optimizes patient care by providing appropriate, safe, and cost effective pharmaceutical care including drug dispensing, IV admixture program, and providing drug information. Works under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and/or the Pharmacy Operations Manager and will oversee the work of pharmacy technicians, students, and support staff.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS certification required for attending Code Blue.
• Completion of the TSBP educational requirements in the field of compounding sterile preparations OR must be capable of completing requirements within 90 days of hire date.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
• One year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
