Cornell University’s Animal Health Diagnostic Center is seeking a Medical Technologist Assistant to support daily laboratory testing, specimen processing, and quality-focused operations in a fast-paced team. The role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and teamwork, with opportunities to grow laboratory skills while contributing to animal and public health.

The position is onsite in Ithaca, NY, full‑time, with a standard 39‑hour workweek and a pay range of $24.30–$26.21 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a science field with up to 2 years of laboratory experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Sound reasoning and analytical skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent self‑management to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to accuracy and detailed record keeping.
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with tact and discretion.
• Ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 20 pounds and prolonged standing.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare submissions for Clinical Pathology testing and process specimens per protocol.
• Enter data into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Perform routine clinical testing under supervision, following SOPs.
• Participate in QA/QC processes appropriate to role and capabilities.
• Assist with daily lab care tasks.
