Job summary

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – St. Charles is seeking a dedicated nurse assistant to support patient care under supervision.

This role involves assisting with daily activities, documenting data, and coordinating with the healthcare team for patient needs. You will complete a state-approved UAP program or be enrolled in SSM Health's UAP pathway, and hold a current BLS HealthCare Provider certificate. Night shift, 36 hours weekly on Med Surg unit; benefits include paid parental leave, DailyPay

Qualifications

Completion of a state approved UAP program or enrollment in SSM Health's UAP pathway during orientation.
No experience required.

Responsibilities

Receives patient care assignment from the RN and initiates delegated tasks.
Documents data for admission assessments and schedules, when needed.
Inform nurses of changes in patient condition or education needs.
Stock and maintain supplies and equipment to support patient care.
Assist with delegated clerical duties and organize patient records.
In inpatient settings, take vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and help with discharge preparations.
In outpatient settings, manage referrals and assist patients three years or older.
Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
