Job summary

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - Lake Saint Louis is seeking a Regular, full-time Nursing Assistant to support patient care under supervision. You will assist with a range of nursing tasks, document data for admissions and assessments, and help with discharge preparation in a hospital setting.

The role requires BLS HCP certification, completion of a state UAP program, and ability to work a day shift in a fast-paced inpatient environment. 36 weekly hours are scheduled.

Qualifications

• Completion of a state approved unlicensed assist personnel program or meets the exempted UAP guidelines.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with nursing care tasks delegated by the RN for specific patient age groups.
• Collects data for admissions, reassessments, and scheduling; supports data entry and analysis by the RN.
• Notifies licensed staff of changes in patient conditions and educates patients or families as needed.
• Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment; uses time and resources efficiently.
• Delivers delegated clerical duties such as answering phones, transcribing orders, and organizing medical records.
• Assists with patient preparation for discharge and supports outpatient referrals as applicable.
