Eye Associates of New Mexico is seeking a Clinical Referral Coordinator I to join our Referral Services team. This role blends ophthalmic clinical knowledge with patient communication and care coordination, reviewing referrals, scheduling appointments, and liaising with patients and referring providers.

The ideal candidate is a COA with 2+ years of direct clinical experience or a CCOA with 2+ years of direct referral experience, has strong communication and organizational skills, and is

• High school diploma or equivalent
• COA certification with 2+ years clinical experience or CCOA with 2+ years referral experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills
• Ability to coordinate referrals and scheduling
• Familiarity with ophthalmic terminology is a plus

Responsabilidades

• Review and process incoming patient referrals and supporting medical documentation
• Contact patients to coordinate and schedule referral appointments
• Determine appropriate scheduling timeframes and subspecialty placement
• Screen and process urgent referrals for timely review and scheduling
• Communicate with external referral sources regarding status of referrals
• Maintain referral tracking in patient/referral systems
• Coordinate referrals between EANM providers and external sources
• Notify staff of appointments and prep details for visits
• Communicate with patients, physicians and providers by phone and email
• Coordinate transfer of consults and patient-care calls to ophthalmologists
• Review records from co-managing providers and assist with questions
• Maintain communication on medications, diagnoses and treatment as needed
• Assist with scanning and routing patient records
• Work with Patient Accounting on insurance eligibility
• Document ocular complaint details as needed
• Support same-day and expedited scheduling
• Participate in continuing education and ophthalmic certification
