Baystate Health, the parent organization of Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, seeks a Clinical Operations Supervisor to support nursing and non-nursing staff. This role provides authority to guide nursing practice per state law and hospital policy, collaborating with the AOC in emergencies, with a focus on safe, high-quality patient care.
The position offers a full-time night schedule (8:00 PM–8:30 AM; 36 hours, every other weekend), located at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.

The Clinical Operations Supervisor is a valuable resource for nursing and non-nursing staff across the hospital. They possess the authority to make critical decisions in nursing practice in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act of Massachusetts, following established policies at the unit, department, and hospital levels. In emergency situations, they have the power to make broader decisions and collaborate with the Administrator-On-Call (AOC), even accessing additional resources as needed. This role is dedicated to ensuring high-quality and safe patient care, with a focus on achieving zero patient harm. They actively monitor and promote best practices aligned with national patient safety goals and the Patient Care Services (PCS) initiatives at BMC, emphasizing safe care transitions, nursing-sensitive indicators, and positive patient and family experiences.
