Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to support our Medical Assistants and oversee MA staff in delivering exceptional patient care. You will collaborate with office Nursing Leadership and the Practice Manager to ensure efficient patient flow, staff productivity, and achievement of operational goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with college coursework in management and supervision; preferred associate or bachelor in management/healthcare administration.
• Successful completions of accredited/approved MA program and MA externship, MA Internship; EMT program; Paramedic program; or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• Valid CPR certification.
• MA credentialing through CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or CMAC.
• Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience with supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned areas.
• Assist with recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and coaching of MA staff.
• Maintains scheduling, time and attendance for the MA staff.
• Evaluates the performance of MA staff, recommends promotions and disciplinary action.
• Fills in as Medical Assistant when needed.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

Education
