Job summary

Rothman Orthopaedics is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to serve as a Clinical Operations Specialist in our Malvern, PA office, with travel to West Chester as needed. Schedule: Mon–Fri 7:30 AM–4:30 PM.

The COS blends clinical duties with front desk and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth patient flow and coordination with medical staff. Previous MA experience and strong organizational skills preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active National Medical Assistant Certification preferred, but not required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year in a medical office environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office and EMR scheduling/billing systems.
• Phlebotomy and basic MA skills; OSHA regulations familiar.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage flow from waiting room to exam to discharge.
• Check in patients; verify demographics and insurance; collect payments.
• Ensure referrals and pre-certifications are documented and processed.
• Coordinate with departments for imaging, physical therapy, and MRI as needed.
• Handle appointments, calls, mail, and patient communications within 24 hours.
• Maintain clean, organized workspace and stock supplies.
• Prepare and assist with injections, casts/splints, and orthotics per physician instructions.
