Job summary

Rothman Orthopaedics is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our Chalfont, PA office. This role requires travel to offices within the region as needed. Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, providing support to physicians and physician assistants in daily administrative and clinical tasks.

The MA will greet patients, prepare exam rooms, manage records, assist with injections, review imaging, and ensure smooth patient flow. Prior MA experience and MS Office knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Active National Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in the waiting area and escort them to the exam room; guide patients through the office workflow.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of exam rooms; prepare rooms for patient visits.
• Clean and autoclave instruments.
• Manage paperwork for Physician review and charting.
• Record vitals as requested by the Physician.
• Prepare injections per protocol.
• Access and review imaging reports (X-ray, MRI, CT).
• Assist patients with clothing and comfort as needed.
• Dispose of biohazard waste and replace sharps containers per OSHA rules.
• Answer phones in patient treatment areas.
• Obtain and upload reports from facilities for Physicians.
• Restock and manage laundry.
• Track appointment status and order patient flow for the Physician.
• Review schedules and ensure charts are ready with operative reports and studies.
• Complete pre-certifications for MRI, injectables, and other orders.
• Send authorization requests for pre-certifications as needed.
• Cover other areas as directed by management.
• Attend meetings and participate on committees as requested.
• Read and respond to emails within time frames.
• Identify weekly schedule changes as published by management.
• Handle specimens and label for lab analysis.
