Job summary

Mercy Medical Center's Hall Perrine Cancer Center Pharmacy is seeking a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist to oversee the safe, cost-effective preparation of chemotherapy, biologic therapy, and supportive care medications, working with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes.

The role supports clinical and distribution services, with leadership in mentoring pharmacists and technicians and ensuring adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• ASHP PGY1 Residency or 3 years oncology experience required.
• Oncology PGY2 Residency preferred.
• Board Certification in Oncology preferred.
• Iowa pharmacist licensure by start date required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex medication therapy in oncology.
• Ensure safe handling and administration of hazardous drugs.
• Educate and mentor pharmacists and technicians in oncology care.
• Monitor therapies for toxicity and adverse events.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to optimize therapy.
• Provide drug information and participate in quality assurance.
