Meritus Health Inc. is seeking Clinical Observers to provide one-to-one observation and support for patients in the Nursing Services team.

This role emphasizes patient safety, accurate documentation, and collaboration with nursing staff to ensure a therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, reporting safety concerns, and helping with transitions and care continuity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to sit in quiet observation of patient for long periods without distraction.
• Experience in customer service or team-based environments a plus.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant observation and personal care for patients requiring one-to-one support.
• Assist with daily living needs: bathing, oral care, mobility, nutrition, and elimination.
• Document patient interactions and observations accurately.
• Identify and report behavioral changes or safety concerns to nursing staff.
• Maintain a hazard-free patient environment and follow safety protocols during transport.
• Support nursing assistants and serve as a preceptor for new team members.

What You’ll Do

Physical & Mental Requirements

This role involves frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.), as well as continuous mental focus and communication. You’ll also work in conditions that may involve exposure to blood and body fluids.
