Job summary

Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM, is seeking a Clinical Nutrition Manager (Registered Dietitian) to lead a small RD team, perform inpatient and outpatient nutrition interventions, and educate staff and patients. The role requires a CODR RD and state licensure as applicable, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice.

• Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed dietitian as required by state.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and documentation in medical records.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a 2+ RD team; manage hiring, scheduling, training, and counseling.
• Provide leadership to foster morale, quality, and respect.
• Complete nutritional assessments and provide interventions for inpatients and outpatients.
• Educate patients, families, staff on nutritional needs.
• Provide nutrition support training for patient service ambassador team.
• Manage clinical QAPI projects and collaborate with departments.
• Document assessments and nutrition plans in medical records.
• Communicate with physicians about patients’ nutritional status and orders.
• Attend rounds and ensure nutrition policies support regulatory compliance.

Clinical Nutrition Manager (Registered Dietitian) at Memorial Medical Center, Las Cruces, NM

Starting salary $78,000 (Negotiable based on experience) + $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Option to work 1 day remote per week

Manage all aspects of hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and counseling for a team of 2+ registered dietitians

Provide leadership that supports a team environment that fosters morale, passion, quality, and respect

Complete nutritional assessments and provide interventions using evidence-based practices for both inpatient and outpatient care

Provide education to patients, families, nursing, food service, and other facility staff on nutritional needs

Providing nutritional support training for the patient service ambassador team

Manage clinical QAPI projects and plans and collaborate with other departments to achieve goals

Document assessment of patients with nutritional goals and interventions in the medical record

Communicate with physicians and clinical staff on patients’ nutritional status

Manage physician orders for therapeutic diets and supplements

Attend patient rounds and maintain clinical nutrition policies to support regulatory compliance

Requirements

Registered Dietitian with Commission of Dietetic Registration and licensed dietitian as required per state regulations

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or related field

3+ years of experience in a related field

Knowledge of regulatory standards

Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software
