Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Nursing Student for the PCU at Anderson Hospital. The student will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, gaining clinical experience through job shadowing and delegated care within policy and regulations.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, documentation, and communication with the healthcare team. This role supports ongoing learning with mentorship and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• HS/GED is required.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program with at least one clinical course and one rotation completed.
• BLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the nurse under supervision in applying the nursing process.
• Develop critical thinking through collaboration with the RN to ensure quality patient care.
• Provide basic patient care including hygiene, vital signs, mobility, and feeding.
• Report changes or concerns to the nurse and escalate as needed.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation for patient care and hand-offs.
