Job summary

Johnson County Community College is seeking part-time clinical instructors to teach in Med/Surg in acute care hospital settings for the spring 2027 term. Instructors will work with ADN students one day per week on a consistent clinical day, with hospital assignments on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday.

On‑campus activities may occur on days outside the assigned clinical day. The position requires a Master’s degree in nursing (or a BSN with relevant experience), active RN licensure in

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university; BSN with requisite experience may be considered.
• Active single-state RN licenses in Kansas and Missouri, or an active Multi-state RN license.
• Active BLS Certification as Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association or ARC).
• Current RN experience in the teaching area.
• Minimum of three years full-time or equivalent nursing experience within the last five years.
• Ability to work closely with students and hospital staff to provide hands-on learning.
• Ability to supervise students and provide constructive feedback using evaluation tools.
• Comfort with using a computer and LMS to access courses and document in online tools.
• Ability to multitask and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Teach in Med/Surg areas in acute care hospital settings.
• Coordinate with ADN students one day per week on a consistent schedule.
• Deliver on-campus activities as needed.
• Support a quality learning experience in clinical settings (acute care, inpatient, medical/surgical or maternal-child).
