Are you a skilled and compassionate nurse with a passion for making a difference in the lives of cancer patients? Our outpatient clinic in Upland is looking for a Radiation Oncology Nurse to become a key player in our dynamic team.
As a key member of our ambulatory radiation department, you’ll support our team of providers and care for up to 50 patients on active treatment plans. Your responsibilities include educating patients, managing treatment side effects, conducting toxicity assessments, handling triage calls, and supporting care coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Support providers with consults and follow-ups.
- Perform patient education.
- Start IVs for CT simulations with contrast and coordinate chemotherapy.
- Triage patient concerns related to radiation therapy and side effects.
- Enhance patient health literacy through education and answering clinical questions.
- Assist with PEG tube placement and dental clearance for head and neck patients.
- Support radiation oncology care plans, including cardiac devices.
- Navigate barriers to care, coordinate with other service lines, and understand payor authorization issues.
- Support quality-of-life goals and survivorship for patients and caregivers.
Offer: Sign-On Bonus of $20,000 for full-time employees.
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday – Friday (8:30 am - 5 pm).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing.
- 3-5 years of related experience.
- Current California RN license.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual skills.
- 1 year radiation oncology experience or 2 years in a physician’s office or hospital.
- ONS or OCN certification.
