Are you a skilled and compassionate nurse with a passion for making a difference in the lives of cancer patients? Our outpatient clinic in Upland is looking for a Radiation Oncology Nurse to become a key player in our dynamic team.

As a key member of our ambulatory radiation department, you'll support our providers and care for up to 50 patients on active treatment plans. Your responsibilities include educating patients, managing treatment side effects, conducting toxicity assessments, handling triage calls, and supporting care coordination.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Supporting providers with consults and follow-ups.
  2. Performing patient education.
  3. Starting IVs for CT simulations with contrast and coordinating chemotherapy.
  4. Triage of patient concerns regarding treatment side effects and wound care.
  5. Enhancing patient health literacy through education and clinical questions.
  6. Coordinating PEG tube placements and dental clearances for head and neck patients.
  7. Assisting with radiation oncology care plans for cardiac devices.
  8. Navigating barriers to care, working with service lines like financial counselors, social services, and transportation, with an awareness of payor authorization issues.
  9. Supporting patients and caregivers in quality-of-life and survivorship goals.

Additional Details:

  • Sign-On Bonus: $20,000 for full-time employees.
  • Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday (8:30 am - 5 pm).
Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing.
  • Three to five years of related experience.
  • Current California RN License.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bilingual skills.
  • One year of radiation oncology experience.
  • Two years of experience in a physician's office or hospital.
  • ONS or OCN certification.

Note: City of Hope employees' pay is based on work experience, qualifications, and location.
