Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse for the UNC Rex Holly Springs Hospital unit. The role involves direct patient care in a dynamic 12-17 bed unit transitioning to a 24-bed facility in 2026, with a focus on safety, education, and efficient teamwork.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, you will coordinate care using the nursing process, participate in ongoing education, and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.

Responsibilities

• Education - Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. Uses patient education materials relevant to patient population.
• Evaluation of Care - Identifies expected patient outcomes. Participates in discussion with interdisciplinary team in evaluation of patient care. Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
• Implementation - Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems and follows policies and procedures in delivery of care.
• Leadership - Develops goals to promote professional growth and collaborates with others to achieve unit goals and performance improvement.
• Patient Assessment/Planning/Research - Assesses data, plans care, and coordinates with family and multidisciplinary team.
