Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, NC to provide competent nursing care and coordinate patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.

You will report to the Nurse Manager/Director and participate in education, care evaluation, implementation, leadership, patient assessment, planning, and research as part of daily practice. This 36-hour/week night-shift role requires NC RN licensure and BLS, with at least 1 year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education: participates in identifying learning needs and uses patient education materials relevant to the patient population.
• Evaluation of Care: identifies expected patient outcomes and communicates to promote continuity of care.
• Implementation: demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems using nursing standards and organizes care per patient needs.
• Leadership: collaborates to promote professional growth and coordinates with the interdepartmental team.
• Patient Assessment: synthesizes data to determine care priorities and anticipates discharge needs.
• Planning: collaborates with patient/family to update the care plan and utilizes multidisciplinary resources.
• Research: reads journals and brings ideas to staff for assessment of applicability.
