Position Summary
Phoenix Children’s is hiring a part‑time experienced Clinical Nurse for our Outpatient Hemodialysis clinic. The clinic operates 6 AM – 5 PM and supports up to four patients at any one time. Nurses will provide education and care for patients who come multiple times a week for treatment.
Candidate must have at least one year of dialysis experience, two years RN inpatient experience, or one year RN experience with HD CCHT experience. Preferred: experience with Fresenius 2008‑T machines. New graduates will not be considered. On‑call and weekend differential applies.
The position works collaboratively with the healthcare team, patients and families to promote health through professional nursing care, documentation, and evidence‑based practice.
Position Duties
- Complete nursing assessments of patient conditions consistent with age and condition, including physical, psychological, social, developmental, and educational factors; determine initial and ongoing compliance with the treatment plan.
- Continuously evaluate patient responses to care, teaching, and discharge plans; document progress and share observations with the healthcare team and families.
- Contribute to team efforts by completing required activities within established parameters and maintaining compliance with medication, storage, and documentation standards and regulations.
- Provide orientation to the unit, hospital systems, and processes to patients and family members.
- Supervise patient‑care activities of assigned team members, delegate duties appropriately, and provide timely feedback and review of care delivery.
- Work collaboratively with the patient‑care team and family members to establish and implement plans of care.
- Foster a positive learning environment by modeling best practices and guiding students and new employees through mentorship and clinical instruction.
- Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested.
Education
- Two‑year (ADN), four‑year (BSN), or diploma in nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or current enrollment in an RN‑to‑BSN program.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Arizona RN license or a compact state RN license with multistate privileges.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ped Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Other Requirements
