Job summary

UCHealth in Aurora, CO is seeking a Part-Time Clinical Nurse Educator/Coordinator responsible for coordinating, supervising, and evaluating nursing student educational experiences, with a clinical faculty appointment at the University of Colorado-Denver College of Nursing, practicing within the Clinical Scholar model.

Qualifications

• BSN from an NLN or CCNE accredited or state board of nursing approved program.
• Internal: Enrolled in a MSN program, to be completed within 5 years or post hire plan for MSN program.
• External: BSN from an NLN or CCNE accredited or state board of nursing approved program and MSN in nursing management or nursing education.
• State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• 3 years of recent clinical experience in specialty or related area.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates hospital orientation for nursing students and coordinates with the course coordinator to plan content and learning activities.
• Coordinates student nurse clinical experiences with nurse educators and preceptors.
• Provides clinical supervision and evaluation of students with preceptors and conducts clinical conferences to meet course objectives.
• Participates in direct patient care activities to maintain clinical competence and documents medication administration per policies.
• Supports preceptors and leadership in education program goals and data reporting.
