Job summary

The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis seeks Clinical Instructors to teach MEPN clinical rotations across regional hospitals and community sites meeting BRN requirements. Instructors collaborate with didactic faculty to meet course objectives, with training provided before instruction begins.

Responsibilities include instruction, mentoring, assessment, and site liaison, while upholding UC policies and maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Clear and active CA Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Must be a Registered Nurse with a clear and active California license, with a Master's degree. Either the Bachelor or the Master's degree must be in nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in medical-surgical nursing, critical care, pediatrics, maternity, community health, or mental health nursing.
• Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically to provide leadership to achieve the vision of the school.
• Implements systems for learner assessment to and with program leadership, and leads continuous improvement efforts.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with faculty, staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with initiative and autonomy.
• Ability to develop programmatic partnerships with clinical sites in the Sacramento region.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and patient information and records.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and commitment to UC policies supporting graduate students from underrepresented groups.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students and mentor clinical learners in rotations.
• Provide feedback and conduct evaluations of student performance.
• Coordinate orientations and annual updates for sites and staff.
• Serve as liaison between sites and the program.
