Job summary

UC Davis Health in Sacramento seeks master’s or doctorally prepared registered nurses to join Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing as clinical faculty with expertise in adult acute care.

These full-time and part-time positions at the assistant and associate ranks are in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) Series and require RN licensure in California, demonstrated clinical teaching, and the ability to supervise and mentor graduate students in nursing practice and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or doctoral degree in nursing, education, or administration required.
• Licensed as a registered nurse in California.
• Education and clinical expertise sufficient to serve as BRN Content Expert in the designated clinical area.
• At least one year of direct patient care experience within the last five years in the designated nursing area or one academic year of RN-level clinical teaching experience.
• Completion of at least one year of experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a postbaccalaureate course with practice in teaching registered nursing.

Responsibilities

• Teach in didactic and clinical courses for graduate-level pre-licensure students.
• Provide clinical supervision, feedback, and mentoring to students.
• Oversee students during patient care and clinical skills sessions.
• Engage in scholarly activity and participate in committee service.
