Job summary

Duke HomeCare & Hospice seeks a Clinical Nurse Educator to support Home Health, Hospice and Home Infusion across the region. You will develop day-to-day clinician education for Dorothy and Comfort EMR products and guide teams through regulatory updates and new programs.

You will participate in General Orientation, provide cross-coverage, and offer educational support when others are off, ensuring high-quality patient care and staff development.

Qualifications

• RN with clinical experience in Home Health or Hospice; preferred in both settings.
• Knowledge of home-based care regulations, clinical workflows, and documentation requirements.
• Strong computer and technology skills to train and support clinicians in EMR systems and mobile apps.
• Experience with Dorothy and Comfort EMR systems is a plus.
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate orientation, competency and ongoing professional development for department clinical staff.
• Assist department clinical program directors in developing training goals based on audits and patient experience data.
• Develop tools to evaluate program-specific objectives.
• Facilitate communication between ancillary departments and care providers regarding service-line expectations.
• Assess clinician competencies to address DHCH patient care needs.
• Collaborate with Clinical Directors, ACNO and Sr. Director to address educational needs.
• Mentor and coach new clinical staff and preceptors.
• Support EMR training initiatives and Clinical Ladder participation.
• Promote evidence-based practices across all DHCH clinical departments.
