The Clinical Nurse Coordinator – Oncology is a full-time, on-site role based at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. This role focuses on coordinating and delivering comprehensive oncology nursing care, including assessing patient needs, planning and implementing individualized care plans, symptom management, and patient education. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families to support safe chemotherapy and other cancer treatments, symptom management, and education about disease processes and care plans. Daily responsibilities include overseeing patient flow, triaging clinical priorities, managing complex cases, facilitating transitions of care, and ensuring adherence to evidence-based oncology nursing standards and hospital policies. The role also involves mentoring nursing staff, participating in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to oncology-related protocols, and supporting a culture of safety, continuous learning, and compassionate care.
