Qualifications

• NIH Stroke Scale certification required or obtained within 90 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate admission and discharge processes.
• Assess and enhance care quality on CDU.
• Promote teamwork among CDU staff and management.
• Support patient-first initiatives across the unit.
• Participate in service recovery and patient safety initiatives.
• Assist with staff scheduling and coverage.
• Assist with staff training and competency development.
• Resolve conflicts among staff and patients, diplomatically.
• Manage CDU inventory and supply needs.
• Ensure compliance with personnel policies and CDU procedures.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) ensures high-quality, patient-centered care during their shift, collaborating with management to monitor, evaluate, and improve nursing services.

• Ensure compliance with personnel policies

Qualifications & Skills

• Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 1 year of experience
• Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (obtained within 90 days)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Ability to support a fast-paced clinical environment

Unit Details

The CDU is a 12-bed short-stay observation unit for post-operative or evaluation patients, staffed by RNs, CNCs, and managers.
