Job summary

STI in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced molecular biology professional to join our clinical/reference lab. The incumbent will perform high complexity testing, manage extraction, and apply advanced techniques such as PCR, MALDI-TOF, and NGS, while ensuring strict adherence to SOPs. The role requires meticulous documentation and QA oversight to ensure accurate results. You will collaborate with clinicians and scientists to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of molecular biology techniques.
• Proficiency in nucleic acid extraction and assay execution.
• Experience with PCR, MALDI-TOF and NGS methodologies.
• Ability to evaluate, validate and document testing methods.
• Strong record-keeping and QA skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform nucleic acid extraction using manual and automated methods.
• Apply molecular techniques including PCR, MALDI-TOF, and NGS.
• Assist in development and validation of new testing methods and SOPs.
• Oversee daily high complexity testing per lab procedures.
• Maintain sample tracking and test result records.
• Interpret, validate and report laboratory results.
