Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests and procedures as part of routine and complex testing.
• Follows approved policies, records results accurately and reports testing outcomes.
• Maintains quality control, instrument calibration, and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoots instrument issues and follows guidelines when results are illogical.
• Reviews patient results before release to EMR and correlates with history.
• Communicates critical values to medical staff per protocol.
• Participates in training of residents and new technologists.
