Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine seeks a Medical Physicist to deliver clinical services to patients in Radiation Oncology, ensuring high-quality patient care and clear communication.

The role includes calibration/maintenance of equipment, machine acceptance testing, treatment planning, brachytherapy, and developing new procedures with education activities. ABD/ABR Part I preferred; NYS license and Varian experience are advantageous.

Qualifications

• CAMPEP-approved MS or PhD in Medical Physics.
• Minimum 2 years’ clinical Medical Physics experience in Radiation Oncology.
• Excellent oral and communication skills; ABR Part I passed.

Responsibilities

• Calibration and maintenance of Radiation Oncology equipment.
• Perform machine acceptance test and commissioning.
• Patient treatment planning.
• Brachytherapy procedures.
• Development and implementation of new Radiation Therapy procedures, techniques and instrumentation.
• Education activities.
