Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time role in the Greater Charlotte area. The position involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, performing basic labs, and assisting clinicians with procedures.

It requires a High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military training; BLS certification is required. The role is dayshift, 40 hours per week, with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in lieu of a formal Medical Assistant program or EMT.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vital signs, med reconciliation, history and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties including venipuncture, specimen handling and POCT per orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Other duties such as scheduling, refills, authorizations and referrals.
