Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Charlotte area. You will perform rooming, vital signs, med reconciliation and patient history, and assist clinicians with procedures. Live within the Carolina region and work standard M-F hours in a 40-hour week.

Responsibilities include administering vaccines and medications, handling lab duties, and coordinating referrals and patient communications. Requires MA program completion and a high school diploma; BLS preferred in some divisions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in lieu of formal MA program allowed per DD214.
• Two years of clinical MA experience preferred (depending on division).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles scheduling, referrals, and patient communications.
