Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses in a fast-paced clinic in DeKalb, IL. You will help with patient flow, basic procedures, room preparation, and front-line patient interactions to ensure a smooth visit.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, BLS/CPR certification, and eligibility to obtain CMA/RMA/NCCT/CCMA/NRCMA within six months. 0–2 years of related experience preferred and EMR experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current certification eligibility within six months for CMA/RMA/NCCT/CCMA/NRCMA is required or planned.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow and assist physicians and nurses.
• Assist with procedures (ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection).
• Prepare and stock exam rooms, maintain cleanliness and sterile practices.
• Interact professionally with patients and care team to support efficient visits.
• Perform delegated duties as assigned by supervisor.
