Job summary

Mizell Memorial Hospital Incorporated is seeking a diligent Medical Assistant to support Providers and LPNs in daily clinical and clerical operations. You will assist with patient check-in, order entries, vital signs, and collaborative patient care under physician supervision.

The role involves performing routine in-office tests, blood draws, injections, wound care, and clerical support while maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Maintains certification with your board.

Responsibilities

• Checks in patients and gathers information from medical history, medication list, allergies, past surgeries and vital signs in the EMR.
• Performs routine in-office tests (glucometer, UA, Flu, Strep, COVID swabs) and prepares labs for testing.
• Collects blood samples and prepares labs for submission.
• Administers medications and injections as ordered by providers.
• Assists providers with wound care, dressings and orders under their direction.
• Performs clerical duties as needed.
