Job summary

Omni Family Health is hiring a Medical Assistant in Bakersfield, CA. The MA will support clinicians, perform preliminary patient care, and manage basic administrative tasks in a busy ambulatory setting.

Required is a High School Diploma or GED with approved Medical Assistant training, plus Venipuncture, CPR and BLS certifications. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred to serve the diverse patient base.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED. Medical Assistant training as specified by the Medical Board of California.
• Venipuncture, CPR and BLS certifications currently valid.
• Preferred bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical and clerical support to clinical staff and patients.
• prepares exam rooms and assists with exams and procedures.
• takes vital signs and records patient information.
• completes lab orders, referrals, and medication refills per orders.
• administers medications and injections as ordered.
• maintains patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
