Job summary

Omni Family Health in Bakersfield, CA, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support the clinical team in a busy primary care setting. The MA will prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, assist with patient education, and help with CPT-relevant procedures under nurse supervision.

The role requires completion of CA Medical Board–aligned MA training, current CPR/BLS, venipuncture certification, and a willingness to travel among Omni clinic sites. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of training per Medical Board of California for Medical Assistants.
• Venipuncture certification (current).
• CPR certification (current).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (current).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Strong communication and ability to meet deadlines.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical and clerical support to clinicians and patients.
• Prepares examination rooms and schedules based on procedures.
• Performs preliminary measurements (height, weight, vitals).
• Verifies patient information and medical history.
• Assists with exams and procedures as needed and documents notes.
• Completes lab orders, referrals, and medication refills.
• Administers medications per written orders and conducts CLIA-waived testing.
