Job summary

Gulf Coast Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide essential patient care in a primary care clinic setting. You will take vital signs, record medical histories, prepare patients for examinations, and assist the care team with procedures.

You will administer medications, perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests, maintain clean exam rooms, manage appointments, and ensure HIPAA compliance. Strong communication and teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required; CMA/RMA/CCMA certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination, take vital signs, and update records in the EHR.
• Assist physicians and nurses during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications and immunizations as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens for laboratory testing.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and quality control procedures.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-ups.
• Maintain exam rooms and ensure supplies and equipment are clean and sterilized.
• Respect patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Provide patient education on medications and preventive care.
