The role emphasizes accurate documentation in the EHR, proper patient privacy, and coordination of labs, referrals, and follow-ups. On-site training will ensure competency for injections, specimens, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.

Qualifications

• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain it before start date.
• Basic knowledge of patient rooming, vital signs, infection prevention, and clinical documentation.
• Ability to recognize concerning findings and promptly notify a licensed clinician.
• Understanding of Medical Assistant scope and when to ask for help.
• Reliability, organization, communication, and HIPAA compliance.
• Willingness to work onsite in a busy outpatient clinic.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and help them feel informed, supported, and safe.
• Room patients and obtain chief concern, vital signs, med list, allergies, and screenings.
• Document patient information accurately in the EHR.
• Coordinate labs, referrals, orders, and follow-up appointments.
• Perform approved tasks such as EKGs, injections, or specimen collection after training.
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
• Route patient calls per protocol and maintain professional communication.
