Job summary

MedNOW Clinics is seeking a Medical Assistant to deliver top-quality patient care and support clinicians in a busy Colorado clinic.

You will room patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, and manage documentation in Athena EHR while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Ideal candidates have MA training, BLS, and 1–3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• 1-3 years hands-on clinical experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with Athenahealth EHR strongly preferred.
• Professional, empathetic, and patient-focused demeanor.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and compassionate patient care.
• Collaborate with providers and clinical staff as part of a supportive team.
• Review daily schedules, prepare patient charts, and confirm visit details.
• Collect medical history, vitals, medications, and other key information.
• Perform point-of-care testing (urine, rapid tests, EKGs, screenings).
• Administer and document medications and immunizations accurately.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and process lab orders.
• Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and infection control.
• Support front office operations as needed.
• Accurately document patient care in Athena EHR and communicate effectively.
• Monitor and manage provider worklists in Athena.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support smooth clinic operations.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As aMedical Assistant at MedNOW, you’ll play a vital role in delivering top-qualitycare and ensuring every patient’s experience is positive and seamless. You’ll work side-by-side with our providers and clinic team to perform both clinicaland administrative duties - from rooming patients and taking vitals toassisting with procedures, managing documentation, and keeping the clinicrunning smoothly.

Thisposition provides valuable clinical exposure and professional experience forstudents enrolled in Pre-Med, Pre-PA, or Pre-Nursing programs.

WHATYOU’LL DO

• Managemedication refills, referrals, and patient callbacks
• Maintainclean, organized exam rooms and ensure proper infection control
• Supportfront office operations as needed
• Accuratelydocument patient care in Athena EHR and communicate effectively
• Monitorand manage provider worklists ("buckets") in Athena
• Upholdpatient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Performother duties as assigned to support smooth clinic operations

QUALIFICATIONS
