Job summary

Indiana University Health Urology in Bloomington, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care under supervision. You will prepare charts, room patients, collect data, draw labs, and assist providers with procedures while ensuring accurate medical orders and timely referrals.

The role requires BLS certification, CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC credentials, OSHA/CLIA/ADA knowledge, and proficiency with ICD-10/CPT coding.

Qualifications

AHA Basic Life Support certification required; other life support may be required.
High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant program preferred.
Current CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification required.
OSHA/CLIA/ADA knowledge.
ICD-10 and CPT coding knowledge.
TB validation within 6 months of hire preferred.
Knowledge of Quality Programs, Meaningful Use and Standard Work within 6 months.
Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures.
Knowledge of insurance plans and third-party payers.
Requires basic math and accurate data collection/entry skills.

Responsibilities

Chart preparation and review of patient records.
Rooming patients and obtaining required information.
Drawing labs/phlebotomy.
Assisting providers with procedures.
Communicating with patients via phone and patient portal.
Registration and scheduling activities; maintain EMR files and front office tasks.
