Job summary

IU Health Fort Wayne is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a fast-paced ambulatory clinic. You will room patients, handle messages and paperwork, and assist with both clinical and administrative duties.

Certification as CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC and knowledge of Cerner are required. High school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification required.
• Knowledge of Cerner EMR and basic coding basics.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and support providers during clinic visits.
• Manage patient messages, paperwork, and prior authorizations.
• Assist with both clinical and administrative duties.
• Rooming patients and completing intake.
• Assisting providers with patient care.
• Documenting in Cerner; scanning and maintaining medical records.
• Prepare exam rooms and support clinic workflow.
