Job summary

Evernorth Workplace Care in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support clinical operations and ensure a positive patient experience within a fast-paced health center.

The role requires a graduate of an approved MA program or CCMA training, BCLS, 1+ year front/back-office experience, phlebotomy skills, and strong computer/documentation abilities. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits from day one and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved Medical Assistant program or on the job training with CCMA prior to hire.
• Current BCLS required.
• At least 1+ year of front and back-office experience.
• Phlebotomy skills in the work setting required.
• Solid computer and documentation skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
• Team oriented and reliable with strong time management.
• Ability to work 8 hour shifts full-time (40 hours/week) in Fort Myers clinic hours.

Responsibilities

• Attend department staff meetings and participate in required in-service training programs.
• Cross-train to support new procedures and additional departments as needed.
• Greet and check in patients by verifying coverage and eligibility and completing required documentation.
• Answer and triage telephone calls, route calls appropriately, and take accurate messages.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify membership and benefit coverage.
• Support back-office clinical functions (vitals, immunizations, injections, point-of-care testing, lab draws, occupational health testing).
